I need to repair n external hard drive. how do i boot from my os x cd?

On restart, hold down the C key on your keyboard with the OS X CD in the drive.

Why would you need to boot from disk to repair an external disk :confused:

If you are trying to repair an external HD, you can do it without booting into the OS X disc. Just run Disk Utility from within the OS itself. Course, I may have missed the point of what you're trying to do, so feel free to ignore me if I have :D
