Go to that link and take a look. All that's needed to help is an internet connection and your spare processing power. I leave my computer on every night, so it may as well go to good use right?

AFAIK, MR has a folding team.

Er...Kalns, on that site go to Stats and pull up Team 3446. You'll find nearly 2000 of us already listed :p
Although if you want to join in, please do. The more the merrier :)

I've only been doing it since last month but the SMP simulations load you up with 1700+ pts per WU. I've just added my PS3 this week. By the end of next week I should be well within the top 200 on Team Macrumors.
I can only imagine what kind of damage could be done with a Mac Pro. Until they get around to updating them and I order mine, of course, and then I won't have to imagine anymore. :)

And I have two C2D and a G5 folding. Not 24/7, but still... It has taken me 5 years to get to the 170.000 points and over 2000 WU to achieve that. That makes you think, 2000 WU X 1700 points = 3.400.000 points! That's about 20 times as high. Those PS3 are seriously kicking some @#$*!!

There were only two or three simulations worth 1700 points and they're not PS3 WUs. A C2D can handle one of the big mothers in a little over a day. The PS3 is currenlty chomping on some ~300 pt WUs that take between 6-8 hours to wrap up.

Isent the ps3 the most powerfull one? isent it like 25 time more folding power than a pc? dose any one leave there ps3 all night folding?

So the PS3 is way more powerfull, but what do you want with 7 cores, each 3.2 GHZ and working together on one WU.
