Marware Protection Pack Alternatives

Hello,

I am looking to buy the marware protection pack for my macbook pro, but I don't want that extra keyboard cover that comes bundled with the pack. So it would be $20 for simply a palm rest cover. I have seen some of the devasting corrosion pictures, and I do not want that to happen to my MBP, so I would like to know of any cheaper alternatives to the MPP that just include that palm rest cover. I am also in favor of any free, homemade solutions...

Someone suggested me to use Duct Tape, but err... I don't want that residue on my MBP after I decide to take it off.

I am thinking of putting on a strip from one of those lint rollers... you know... to get the dor hair off of you??
