On the bright side, and from a selfish perspective, it justifies my decision to buy my MacBook now and not wiat for Leopard. :)

is there any likely chance that iLife will be released before leopard?

There is a chance but seeing as there wasn't a release in January or since i think it is most likely that the two will coincide.
I personally think they might be incorporating iLife into the Leopard while maintaining a separate retail disk so people can upgrade to iLife 07/08/Leopard without having to upgrade to Leopard.

I believe that iLife (and iWork) are both going to wait until Leopard is released. Both suites need a bump in features and a lot of these will be tied to Leopard. That makes the suites more attractive to the users AND will also increase the sales of Leopard for those that want to take advantage of the Leopard based features.
The delay also provides the developers working on the suites to add features that were set for 08, essentially giving us iLife 08 and iWork 08. With the delays Steve J is going to want the new releases to be blockbusters!
