Just seeing if anyone uses a video tuner card on their mac. If so, what kind, and how well does it work? any software with that?

Yes We All Use EyeTV 500 and/or Hybrids

Yes We All Use EyeTV 500 and/or Hybrids. 500 is discontinued FW digital only. Hybrid is the current $150 analog/digital USB2 model. I use both simultaneously. They come with EyeTV 2.3.3 software that makes your Mac a Tivo.

Add an :apple:TV to your HDTV and you're in MacTV-Land Heaven. 😀 🙂

Terratec Cingery XS - uses the EyeTV software which is really brilliant!

You can set it to record a TV channel too which is a great feature. The software features a great interface, easy to navigate and so on.

I'd look for something with EyeTV software featured with it.

if I were to get one of these eyetv hybrids for when I go to college...what use would it be to me...how does it pick up tv stations and what kinds of stations would i be picking up on a college campus...this doesn't get channels for free does it?
