Is this possible in iChat?

I have a deftones buddy icon I am trying to put in my iChat so it will appear as my buddy icon to other people. It won't let me drag and drop it, or save it as anything but an image.

its the IM icon - can I use that in iChat somehow?

You did save (http://www.deftones.com/4_1/downloads/im_def.gif) it, did you? I'm not quite sure if iChat accepts animated gifs, though. Does it? If you want to be sure, save the icon as a JPEG, PNG or PDF and try it with that format. If that fails too, then I honestly don't have a clue how to get it to work.

I'm new at this OSX stuff, so forgive me if I don't know what I'm talking about, but it appears to me that iChat uses the icon you've put on the Address Book card that's designated as the logged in user's card. I'd think that's where you'd put an icon you wanted to use for yourself in iChat.

ichat does accept animated icons, however, the icon won't be animated when displayed.
