So I went and bought another 500 gig internal HD for my quad G5 and went to go install it and there weren't any mounting brackets for the thing 😡

I should have realized this, but things have been so crazy lately that it didn't even cross my mind when I ordered the drive.

So the big question is where do I get the mounting brackets? A quick search brought up every but what I need and then some. Surely someone here has dealt with this.

Thanks,

D

This is annoying - I called Apple to find out what I need to get and the tech support dude says that they were supposed to be in the box. Riiiiight.....

I saved everything when it was shipped, including the box. There were not ever any brackets shipped with the machine.

They are sending me a set now, though. But its more delay, bleh.

So after a very long and painful Apple Care call it comes out that there are no hard drive mounting brackets - you just put the screws in and there you go.

I debated not putting this bit in, but someone as dense as me might need it in the future....🙄

I think its time for a beer....
