Fan Speed

I have a first generation iMac G5. My fans are running at about 2000rpm constantly. I dont know if that is fast or not but it seems fast? Is there a way i can get my fan speed down, or is nothing to worry about? Just wondering. Thanks.
 
5000 RPM is fast. 2000 RPM is normal operations. You can lower your Performance setting in Energy Saver to run a cooler G5 but it's painfully slow.

Well sometimes it does run between 4000-5000, should i worry then, or does that just have to do with the operations im running so its not a big deal, as long as it doesn't run that speed normally?
 
hey! i have a first gen imac too, and i was wondering, how do you find out the fan speed rpm?

btw....i always find that opening it up and getting all the dust and cr*p out of the fans at the top really helps noise levels...not loads but noticable...my room is full of dust!
