Mini DV Archiving

This is going to be a weird question but I need some kind of software that will allow me to manage my HUGE collection of Mini DV tapes. I just need a system of labeling and telling the computer what is on what tape so I can pull it up and know where somehing is at. I thought of using Excel but I wasn't sure.

You guy's thoughts???

If you already have Excel it would most likely meet your needs. If you don't mind spending some money you can buy FileMaker Pro (it's a database app).

you can always use yojimbo, journler, or other simplier database-ish programs, it all depends how HUGE is your archive and what information you need to store...
