Alot of the tracks on my Ipod (5th gen) just get skipped over when I try to play them. They work fine when I play them in Itunes. I am pretty sure this is some sort of copyright or file sharing protection.
IS THERE A WAY I CAN GET MY IPOD TO PLAY ALL OF THE TRACKS THAT ARE ON IT??????????? WITH OUT HAVING TO RE-IMPORT ALL OF MY CDs???????????
Thanks in advance.

This isn't copyright protection.
Reboot your iPod by holding down the Menu and center buttons until the :apple: logo appears, then see if it still skips tracks.
Let us know if it works for you.

Have you tried the 5 Rs of iPod troubleshooting (http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/)? Also, check out this support article (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61018). :)

let me re-word that. I jacked some tracks from my friends computer and the computer at school. I don't think some of them were authorized.
What I'm trying to sat is:
IS THERE A WAY TO AUTHORIZE ALL OF THE TRACKS ON MY IPOD?????
This skip-track thing has been happening since I had my 1st gen iPod so I'm no iPod rookie. I'm %99 sure its a computer authorization thing.
Is there a way around it or are they forever doomed to get skipped.
Thx again for your help guys. I'm grateful.

Yes, you go to this site on the web that can authorise all your music, we don't like to talk about it much cos it's likely to get closed down...
It's called the iTunes Music Store, it;s run by a very shady crew called Apple Inc.
The reason it doesn't work is because it's illegal under the terms of the licensing agreement you friend signed.
We cannot condone illegal activities on MacRumors, particularly ones that involve stealing music.
We still mug old ladies occasionally mind.
