Does anybody have experience running Win98 or Win98SE under Parallels or VMware? I am about to buy an iMac for my wife but she will want to run some older Win95/98 games and such (Scrabble, Shanghai, Hodj'n'Podj, Mahjong, even Solitaire and Minesweeper). I have a bootable copy of Win98SE that I can use. Does it install easily? Does it run well? Are there any quirks that I should know about? I may also try Crossover Mac, but don't have very high hopes. I have worked on her a long time to get me to change to a Mac (she is the last holdout in our house) and want to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Not sure about the games but i run Win98se on a macbook under Parralells. It runs OK for me.
It seems to do everything I need but I am told it doesn't handle 3D well.

What build of Parallels are you running and does it hang on windows shutdown? I just found the Parallels user forum and several threads there complain about the Parallels Win98 video driver causing windows to hang on shutdown (as well as some other issues). I know this was a fairly common problem with Win98 on real hardware, so I'm not really surprised, just disappointed. Most people there are complaing about build 3188.
