Just about every song done by the magnificent Shpongle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shpongle). :D

In particular the brilliant "A New Way To Say Hooray" on their second album Tales of the Inexpressible (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tales_of_the_Inexpressible) is littered with samples from Terrence McKenna on his experiences with DMT.

Here's (http://jkbowman.zaadz.com/blog/2007/4/a_new_way_to_say_hooray) a link to the track (with a rather cheesy fan made video).

Score!! That's really freakin' comprehensive!

Haven't seen The Stones'/Marianne Faithful's "Sister Morphine" mentioned anywhere. Supposedly about an accident victim needing a hit of morphine..

And speaking of Morphine: I always thought their song "Like Swimming" was about scoring smack..

Another great drug song is "Not an Addict" by K's Choice.

....and not for it's musical composition or outstanding lyrics, but "Follow Me" by Unkle Craker was an interesting song because it was basically a love song to heroine, and I found the twist to be interesting.

Well his being a junkie has alot to do with it....
This is my interpretation, I have nothing to back this up but my gut feeling and past experiences....

She eyes me like a pisces when I am weak
(Trying to beat it, it is watching him)
I've been locked inside your Heart Shaped box for weeks
(on a 'bender')
I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap
(The 'best' heroin comes as 'tar', it is a magnet to him)
I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black
(it would be much easier to eat it than shoot it, no?)

Hey!
Wait!
I've got a new complaint
Forever in debt to your priceless advice
x4 or so

Meat-eating orchids forgive no one just yet
(Poppies are flowers, like orchids, flowers that can destroy...,kinda weak I know..)
Cut myself on Angel Hair and baby's breath
(strength to quit found in Courtney and little Bean)
Broken hymen of your highness I'm left black
(feeling of high is gone, he is stranded)
Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back
(says it all...)

Just my two cents....

What do you think?

Yeh it has hints about drugs, but it isn't 'about' drugs, it's about a couple being in love. Not how as they get more and more in love, the theramin gets higher and higher (that was Wilson's original aim with the classic theramin anyways).

There She Goes by The La's is reckoned to be about using heroin...

Really? That's kinda ironic as Sixpence None the Richer covered this song. They are a Christian oriented pop group.

Anyways, my contribution to this thread is ...

But I am sure he tried to quit... or was inspired to stop 'tomorrow'...
As an addition, I read that he wanted William S. Burroughs to be the man on the cross for the video. For me, that almost seals it....

Duff-Man says...Nick Drake's "Thoughts of Mary Jane," ...

As far as I know this one isn't about drugs (Nick Drake's song lyrics are highly abstract and metaphorical in general; I don't think this points to drugs in particular).

But these are:

Heroin - Superpitcher
Ashes To Ashes - David Bowie
I Live for Drugs - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
H-Babe - T. Raumschmiere
L Dopa - Big Black
Losing Touch With My Mind - Spacemen 3
The Man With The Golden Arm - Barry Adamson
I'm Waiting for the Man - Velvet Underground
Chemical Sweet Girl - Black Strobe
Stoned Love - The Supremes
Drugs Work - Miss Kittin
Droge CX9 - Hubler & Schwab (Vampyros Lesbos Soundtrack)

I recorded a track with a great band in the mid 80's - Danse Society - titled 'Sensimilla' :) It featured a 'toaster' brought in from the States and was possibly the first rap track recorded in the UK but Idon't know for sure!

My favourite song under this category has to be 'Comfortably Numb' by Pink Floyd :D
