I've been purchasing the remastered Star Trek videos with the revised visual effects. I started buying them when iTunes first started selling the series, but not until I found out which ones were redone. I purchased a couple and this is what the file sizes were:

Balance of Terror 574mb 1585kbps 01/24/2007
Space Seed 566mb 1562kbps 01/17/2007

Then the store dropped the series, but then returned it when they separated out which ones were redone and which ones were only remastered.

The first one I bought was in the same file size as the previous purchases:

Corbomite Maneuver 558mb 1538kbps 03/27/2007

I just bought two more episodes this evening and noticed that the file sizes have shrunk and are at a different bitrate:

Where..Gone Before 502mb 1384kbps 04/11/2007
Arena 497mb 1370kbps 04/11/2007

I thought with the introduction of Apple TV that Apple would increase file and bitrate sizes of video files. I don't have an Apple TV yet - I just watch the episodes on my computer monitor - but are these file sizes adequate for that device. At least on my monitor that don't look different from the previous purchased episodes. 😕
