this is a german article ("spiegel" is quite reliable so i think it's not fake):

in short: a croc in a taiwanese zoo bit off an arm of a veterinary. he thought it was sedated but it wasn't. they could reattach the arm later. they shot at the croc to get the arm. the croc was not hurt.
there is a freaky pic of the croc with an arm in it's mouth in the article.

i only post this because the arm was reattached, the croc is alive and the story has a happy ending.

it was too good a opportunity to let pass

i might come up with some puns later. its 1:00 AM here, so i'm not really thinking straight.

here goes;
the surgeon must have been pretty good to get the arm back on. he must have been a real handy man

It was nice of the vet to offer a helpful hand to the croc.

in all seriousness, thats a pretty graphic image and really should not be posted in the thread inline; it should be linked.

that's why i originally posted only the link with a description what you will see.

i'm shocked that people find the story funny enough to make puns all the time. this was a close call! they only got the arm back because another guy shot at the croc twice! lucky for the vet that the guy was armed...ops.....:D

well, now after the surgery he's armed again.

But for how long, if he's doing this regularly he might need to invest in some support from the army.

Taking care of a croc that big that must cost an arm and a leg.

I have a feeling this particular vet won't be lifting a finger to help that croc any time soon. It's time for someone else to lend a hand!

................... It's time for someone else to lend a hand!

considering that the vet got his arm back that is a very precise statement.

Can I just say how much Medicine has moved in the last few years, I read somewhere that the guy might gain full use of that arm. My God. Nothing short of a miracle.

I can't believe that nobody's talking about the crazed, thick-skinned reptile man that's going to come of this once the zookeeper absorbs the powers of the crocodile!

I mean, that croc took two BULLETS! and they didn't even penetrate its hide! This zookeeper is going to absorb some super-strange reptilian powers, and then we'll be in trouble... Yikes!

Super CrocoKeeper will take revenge on all of us gawkers and pun-makers!

You mean like Dr. Curt Conners? Well, he is missing an arm. :p
