UK+EU VGA to Component actually works!

SO I was browsing the Apple Discussions and there are several users that have hooked up there :apple: TV to a projector via the VGA to component by using the following cable from K1 Connectivity

I have heard that VGA is better because there is no loss of picture quality.

Has anyone tried the above?

I would interested to try this out on my Philips 42" plasma non-HD TV as it has a vga input.

It says on that auction in small print: "(*)This cable doesn't support a computer monitor video port, or Y , Cr, Cb Video. Your video source should provide a YpbPr Component Video Signal from the HD 15 video ports to use this cable."
You'd have to check if your TV/projector supports component video input through VGA.

In any case, it won't give you any better image quality than the regular component, though.

I have that exact cable from K1 on ebay
I use it to connect my Apple TV to my NEC Projector from Comp-VGA works AWESOMELY!

I tried a HDMI-DVI-VGA set up and that was a no go.
but this worked great.

oddly thought, when I tested it out on both my mac monitors (Relisys 19" and Dell 2405fwp) I got it working fine but everything was green.
