According to looprumors.com both Apple AND RealNetworks are wanting to purchase Roxio. I guess Realnetworks only has $300,000,000 in cash on hand so it looks like Apple shouldn't have much trouble winning if it really wants to.

Let's analyze this, shall we? RealNetworks is the devil to all things Mac. Roxio is the God of the CD-Burning world, especially the Mac.
RealNetworks + Roxio = bad
Apple + Roxio = good

I'd love to see Toast as part of standard Apple software. It's just one more complication in life that Mac OS lets you burn certain types of CDs in certain ways, and you need Toast to handle other situations. With Roxio, Apple could bundle in all that Toast does.

Isn't 300 million still a fair amount of cash? That should be PLENTY to buy out Roxio. They arn't THAT big of a company.

Yeah, but Apple has 4 Billion in cash...so they could easily outbid Realnetworks.
