is anyone else a bit frustrated with the updated ladyout? in particular i am referring to how the latest threads are no longer on the right side. having those on the side was much easier than being forced to go into the actual forum pages to see whats new.

arn-any possibilities of the new posts coming back to the homepage?

this is a temporary change to decrease the traffic to the forums.

maybe you could just throw together a little page with the script that does it, and not link to it anywhere and PM evil with the location :)

If this prevents the Mac Forum from going off line because heavy visits, then I'm all for the change. Thank you arn!

It wouldn't because the server that this updates affects is the main page, not the forum's computer.

So I am confused at how this would help at all for the forums.

Ha you might as well remove "Discussion Forums_ " link at the top of the main page.
That will really throw people for a loop. :p

temporary..meaning that you expect the traffic to decrease?

is there any reason for the increase in traffic? i have noticed more server busy notices lately.

thanks for the good work arn. your effort is definately noticed.

The site was swamped because of the supposed case picture (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?threadid=29654) that was posted on the site yesterday.

Traffic will likely stay a bit higher than normal until after the 23rd.

is there any reason for the increase in traffic? i have noticed more server busy notices lately. yes, there is always a LOT more traffiic around big days like WWDC, MWNY, MWSF, the day they announced the iPods... with the case of something this supposedly revolutionary, things are just vamping up. expect the site reccord for online users to be surpassed by a lot in the next few days. then a little while after WWDC things will seep back to normalcy.

World Wide Developers Confrence.

Apple is participating, and is rumored to release a PowerMac with a PPC 970. A supposed picture of the powermac was posted here, and traffic to the forums increased heavily.

http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/

Hope that clears it up.
