After effects, maybe. You know, there might be a few people who like the AE workflow and it can do a few things that FCS can't, but premiere? I mean, with the possible exception of people who don't have any video software at all, but Premiere doesn't come close to FCP, and the AE/Premiere package costs $500.00 more than FCS, with the latter being by far a more capable package. I honestly don't understand it. When Adobe was the only low end NLE package, they could afford to gouge prices, but now I guess they're just preying on people locked into their workflow.

I used to really like Premiere. At the right price, I might prefer it to Final Cut for some projects, if it's still as simple to use as it was years ago. It could serve in between iMovie and FCP, on the scale of ease vs. power. So I'm at least curious to check out this new version and see how it compares to what I remember.

Well, Premiere Pro is a completely different beast from the Premiere 6 that was on Mac. It was built from the ground up and is quite on par with FCP if not better. Personally I have been using Premiere Pro at work on the PC and like it more than FCP. I am glad it is being released for mac.
