Description:: In his pre-National Association of Broadcasters event keynote on April 15, Rob Schoeben, Apple’s vice president of Applications Product Marketing, said the company now has over 800,000 “paid Final Cut users worldwide.” It’s the first time Apple has released such figures, and they’re pretty impressive.

It really is a great deal when you look at what the competition charges for similar software. The EDU price is really nice at $699 and will allow many students to delve into a very exciting industry at a great price point. I'm thinking about picking up a retail copy and numerous pro training books once they come out for FCS 2.

Academic is great, but I just wish you could get upgrades for it.
