powerbook G4 lcd - problem

lately I have noticed the lcd on my powerbook seems darker on the left side of the lcd thank the right side ... even now ... as I write, the brightness is at max and the left seems 50 percent less than the right ...

Is this common ???

Also ... I don't seem to notice it all the time ... which leads me to believe it doesn't happen all the time ...

What do you guys think ???

IMO it would be easier to give an answer if you would be able to provide details on your PB. What model number, screen size, processor speed etc.

Its a powerbook G4, 12 inch, 1.5 ghz, 512 mb ram ...
