Does anyone know of any good (and cheap) wordprocessors that can handle arabic and persian properly?

I've looked around, but havent found anything satisfactory.
Most of the apps that claim to be fully unicode complient, don't shape the arabic letters properly.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Zaid

Funny thing is, AW supports them in OS9 with the language packs, but since it can't handle Unicode it's no good in X.

It really needs an update.

Office is just lame...

Thanks guys,

I tried Arabic Genie, but could't get it to work with all my fonts, and it's only really suitable for shot pieces of text. It gets a bit cumbersome for longer text.

Yeh i know that TextEdit works, but i'm looking for something a bit more sophisticated than that :)

Have you tried Hydra (http://hydra.globalse.org/)? Very cool app, similar to TextEdit, but with lots of additional features. Font setting and unicode support are hiding in the Preferences. And it's freeware!
