Macintosh IIci Video question

I have a Macintosh IIci, when I try and hook it up to an AppleVission 1705 (or something like that) no image appears on the screen. The Mac IIci boots though. I noticed that if I unscrew the monitor plug from the monitor itself I see a standard VGA port. So maybe the IIci doesn't work with a VGA monitor? I have an old Apple 13 inch monitor for the IIci but I don't want to get it from the attic since it's heavy and I don't want to drop it 🙄

Ok cool thanks! I wonder what the difference between the Mac II adapter and the vSync adapter. Oh well thanks, I will look into that. I love playing around with old macs, I want to get the IIci online since I got a Nubus ethernet card for it. Thanks for your help...🙂
