I still am thinking about the clamshell. I would want the 280, 2300 and the dock. It has an extra 256 meg strip of ram. no airport, but good battery. You know it runs tiger (I am playing by the rules but it is loaded and nice)

P.S. (digg on my "WTB every powerbook ever made" post for pics) She gets off on other nerds lusting over her. But she is mine!!!!

Why don't sellers like to ship out of the US? I mean it is not like he asked to personally deliver the goods. It takes the exact same amount of effort to ship to Africa as to ship across town. All you do is write a different address on the box and pay a different amount to the shipper. What's the big deal? Buy something from me and I'll have it shipped to Antartica if you are willing to pay for shipping. Yes of course there is the "pay a different amount" part but the buyer covers that.

It is not the same to ship in the US as abroad. If you ship abroad you have to fill out additional paperwork (a pain). You also have to pay really high rates (which for the buyer is too often not worth it--why would you pay more to have something shipped than it is worth--as would be the case with older Powerbooks?)

Granted, someone can do it if they choose, but it is not exactly the same.

As for scamming, if someone scams from overseas, a person in the US has basically no recourse. If in the US, there are many laws to protect you, especially if you use a credit card to purchase or use the US Postal Service to ship, etc. He was not calling you a scammer in any way.

I hope you two can work something out.
