Upgrade Mini

I have a G4 Mac mini and I wanted to upgrade the hard drive. However before installing the hard drive, am I suppose to format it in some special way? I would like to install a fresh copy of OSX because I think it would be easier than transfering the files. thanks for the help

When you install OSX fresh, you can ask the installer to format the HDD for you.

You shouldn't have to do anything to the drive before you put it into the Mini.

You can you Carbon Copy Cloner to create a duplicate of your existing drive if it is the same machine and you are just changing drive size for more space.
