i'm using a Lacie Porsche hard drive(80gb). I connect it to my macbook all the time, i have been hearing intermittent strange clicks (maybe once per few hours) recently, in the last few months. Is it anything to worry about?

In my experience clicking is the first step to failing. I would make sure you have everything backed up. Since it is only a 80 you may just want to pick up another, 80s are not very costly.
