Power Mac G$ Beep Noise

I have a Silver Power Mac G4. Yesterday I noticed that every 30-40 minutes the tower is making a BEEP noise. Same sounds as a battery backup would do sort of. Just one BEEP. What is this? Is there an internal battery in the tower that needs to be replaced and that's a warning sound? If anyone can help I'll appreciate it. Ed
