Can't select/listen to music on my ipod once it's in itunes

Hey there

When i connect my iPod to iTunes, I just can't listen or even select music on the ipod through the itunes. This is unusual, as I was able to do this before.

I can see a little padlock at the bottom of the itunes screen next to the used and free space bit, which maybe suggests Ive locked it somehow.

you have to check "manually manage" to listen to songs while docked.
