Firefox/safari Import Bookmarks

Hi does anyone know the way round this.
I have been using Firefox but now want to switch to Safari, when I click on import in Safari, Firefox is greyed out.
If I try to do it the other way round Firefox does not give an Export option.

In Firefox...

Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks

In the Bookmark Manager

File -> Export

Then back in Safari...

File -> Import Bookmarks
