iPod Nano= dead?

OK, so my daughters nano (blue) was purchased at xmas. It had sat unused for approx a month, maybe a tad more. It was working when she last used it (I saw this, so i know for sure), but now it wont do anything. We have plugged it into the wall, we have plugged it into the computers, we have tried different cables- nada, zip, zilch.

Any suggestions, or call apple?
