Does anyone know if the apple stores will be showing live coverage in their theatres. I didn't see anything advertised for it.

Do The apple stores allow people to access the internet if they bring their own computers? Because people at the stores could be reporters!

yes some of the stores are and there is a thread earlier on macrumors about which ones are showing.

Most likely the site will be closed due to traffic. Will MR do the same thing as you did for MWSF in January; the black page with updates, no links?
I'll be in class and will only have a 20 min break @ 1:50-ish EDT. (summer school, aye!)

Will Arn come through with some spot-on tidbit hours before the keynote speech again, as he did with the last SteveNote? ;)

Keynotes 5pm here, but I've got an exam tomorrow at 9am.

I need 94.6% to get an A (did badly on coursework) and get into medical school :(

No Keynote for me then.

Oh my god! I never saw this before. This man has a serious problem. Somebody forgot to take his ritalin that day.... Haha, hard to watch realy, I feel kind of ashamed for him....
If OUR Steve will do anything remotely simmilar today, I will be forced to order myself a sillicon graphics machine today ;-)

The keynote is at 8pm UK time. Macworld seems to think the event will be webcasted at about 10pm UK time. Although I would have been to the Apple store by then to look at the new computers.

And good luck on your exam, I am getting my results back today. (I am at Uni)

I will be waiting for the rev B PM G5 due out before christmas since the the first version normally has problems with it (The first low end G4 had no AGP slot). I will probably get it on interest free credit and maybe go back to Uni for a year so I can get a Edu discount. :)

No.

The event will be live in stores at 10 am Pacific, 12 pm Central time in the US.

When the broadcasted feed will actually begin will all depend on the length of the keynote. 2 hours wouldn't be a bad guess.

I don't think your time is correct. It starts at 10am PST. I am pretty certain San Fran is in the PST time zone. So it starts at 5pm GMT. But as it is summer we are currently at GMT+1 so it starts at 6pm. Or around when I get home.

I skip the minute-by-minute reports. I like to sleep in, get up, have some coffee, chat with the wife, play with the kids. Then, at some point, when I have a few free minutes, I sit down at my iMac and check in on all the usual sites to see the news. It's the way I've handled all the past events where huge news was expected and it's quite an effect, especially when there really is big news or announcements. The sudden change is great, to go to bed and awake to find the entire landscape of the land of Apple completely rearranged. I don't think the impact of getting it bit by bit as it unfolds to be quite as amazing, but to each his own.

Either way, I hope tomorrow lives up to everyone's expectations--and not because I particularly care but because I can't deal with yet another week of moping on all the Mac forums. ;)

Just a quick note - last time, when the keynote link came up late, I had no luck getting hold of it. However, the Evil Empire actually provided a live stream which worked well:

http://www.msnbc.com/m/lv/default.asp

It's in Windows Media Player, so it feels dirty, but if it's live, I'll be watching... no promises!

That we have a team watching for the obligatory..."the Apple store is down" notice on the Apple website.

If it doesn't get closed close to or during the webcast, then we'll get an unfortunate indication that the new wonder machines, aren't shipping tomorrow.

the general emphasis on the speech will surely be Panther first, new hardware second. I have to take a rehearsal at 8pm UK summer time and leave my machine at about 7:30pm, so I'm kind of hoping that he's a little briefer than usual and get's to the powermacs within the first hour!

Just for fun, I just checked the status of products at the US Apple Store online and the US Apple Education Store online. All standard configurations of both the PowerMac G4 and the PowerBook G4 are stated as shipping 'Same Day.'

If history is to repeat itself, it seems that these should say something like 'Shipping 7-10 Days' or something like that.

Maybe they are just messing with us this time? I dunno, it just does not bode well to me.

I am expecting the PMs to ship today at least in the US, however because of the time difference I will have to wait till tomorrow to get my hands on one. If Apple does release the PMs now then I will be up very early tomorrow and go into london to get one.

I'm still reckoning that the PowerMac G4s will be kept in place for a while reduced in price, as the new ones are going to be significantly more expensive and they'll need something to cover that price range.

People will still want to buy the older models, if they are looking for a lower-grade but still expandable option. So the 0-1-2-3-4 days order time may be telling us nothing about the new range, and this certainly fits with the inside info from my UK reseller.

I don't know. I have a bad feeling about this. I think something about this keynote is off and is going to be disappointing.

Maybe these boxen aren't going to be all they are cracked up to be, or maybe they just won't be introduced. You know stevie.

But I guess we'll wait and see.

More often than not, the store doesn't go down until the end of the keynote, so don't worry if it doesn't go down until then.

Apple's stock's been yo-yoing a bit this am. Up towards a new high on very heavy ealy trading, in a generally down market...
