Hello everyone,

I tried calibrating my MacBook Pro for the first time last night, and I know it didn't fully calibrate because I saw the sleep indicator was still "breathing." I plugged it back in and charged it back up and had noticed that the battery health had dropped to 86%. Also, the charge says 99%. Is this normal?

do you know what the battery health was before you calibrated? also, how old is the macbook pro?

Before I calibrated, the health was around 97-100% (it fluctuated). And my MacBook Pro is a little over 4 months old.

you let the battery drain and let it sleep for five hours before recharging, right? i would try recalibrating again, following all the steps apple tells you to do.

Yeah I let it sleep for about 6 hours and the light was still "breathing." I guess I'll just try calibrating it again tonight.

Is there a specific format I should set my energy saver when I am calibrating?

since the whole purpose of calibrating is to have your system showing the correct amount of battery time left when off the plug, i guess you should have your sytem energy prefs just the way you use it normally, if you calibrate with different energy settings it'll not be accurate when back to your normal settings.

Okay so my MacBook Pro has been calibrating since 11:30pm and it is now 9am. The sleep indicator is still on and I just wanted to know if I have to wait until it goes off before recharging again?

Are you running the battery down completely before the MacBook goes to sleep? The sleep light should not be on for at least 5 hours.

Yeah I ran it down until it gave me a warning and it just went to sleep

Is it bad that my battery health went down from 100% to 92% in just two days?
