View Full Version : For All Those Who Have Crappy Cingular Service: Spotwave?

I mentioned in a previous post (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=3623453&postcount=32) that I have pretty crappy ("pretty crappy" = "nonexistent") Cingular service at my job. I really, really, really do not want to switch because the iPhone is coming out next month.

So let me ask you, the wise men and women of the forum, what are your thoughts on Spotwave? Their link is: http://www.spotwave.com

I'm thinking about putting one in my office so I can start getting signal there. It's certainly worth it for the iPhone...

What do you think? My main question is: Does it work?

That looks interesting... I could really use that in my house, which is pretty much the only place my Cingular reception suffers. Then I could finally drop my land line which is costing $44 a month for just basic service.

... or, I could wait another year until my Cingular contract is up and switch back to T-Mobile which worked fine. :o

$44 jeese - switch to VOIP if you have broadband internet.

Both cell signal extenders seem interesting and that they would do the job but I would be curious to see your real-world results if you go with one. I am mainly wondering on how it is affected by cordless phones & wi-fi.
