Hey guys,
I have a film that I would like to take stills from, to use on the web. I'm using Final Cut Studio. What's the best format to use? I've tried using the still option but it seems to be too blurry for my liking. Any suggestions?
:)

So you used the Make Still Frame Option and it's blurry?
2 Possibilities come to mind:
A) The footage is blurry --> pick another frame.
B) It jitters due to de-interlacing issues --> Apply de-interlace filter

I'm not in front of my station right now but I'll get the exact steps I'm using later when I get home.

I frequently export stills from 24p material shot with a DVX100, and they are fine for web use (though, as noted, blurry video yields blurry stills)
Set your playhead on the frame you want, go to EXPORT, then to USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION, and choose STILL IMAGE.
The OPTIONS tab will let you make some quality and output file selections, and you're done.
You can pump out several possible frames, and then Photoshop them if they need any color, contrast, etc. tweaking.
