Case Lighting and USB Power - Electrical Engineers PLS READ!

PC users have been using Electroluminescent cables to mod their cases for a while. I want to do this with my PowerBook (animated hot rod flames) :D . My question is for anyone familiar with EL lighting and/or USB peripherals. Basically, I want to know if it is possible to use a USB port to power an EL cable.

Any advice would be appreciated!
