Probably a response to the USD/GBP exchange rate, nice to see though.

Nice to get a price cut, but why is this on Page 2?
"Page 2: Uncertain news and links"
It's not uncertain news, anyone can go and see the price on the Applestore (UK)

If Apple stop, Adobe and others might begin to follow suit :)

Yeah, it's tempting to go over to America and buy stuff there but you have to pay some sort of import tax if you spend over a certain amount.:(

Hm... still a bit pricey though. The Creative ZEN Stone, which looks brilliant if you ask me, costs way less. It's bigger, and it's as feature free as the iPod Shuffle, but I bet it's pretty decent for what it is. And it looks so... un-Apple'ish. I like both designs, but the Creative is just a bit more... harmonic. ZEN.
Nevertheless a nice step.

Isn't the shuffle supposed to be small? Maybe they've dropped the price to release something new? New iPods next week?

Why are some stories on Page 2?
The MacRumors front page is used for confirmed news stories, credible rumors, and other stories of wide interest to the Mac community.
Page 2 is used for less credible rumors, news stories of lesser importance or interest, and stories with fewer supporting details.
The distinction allows visitors to limit their viewing to only the most important news and rumors, if they so choose.

There are more US residents here, therefore our stories get pushed back. Plus it is really a very small price cut.

To me, the Creative Zen Stone just looks like a big bloated shuffle without the usefulness of a clip, or the ease of iTunes compatibility. I'd pay an extra £21 to have those features, thank you very much.

More likely a response to the fact the US Dollar is dropping like a stone in relation to other currencies...

If thats true wouldnt we see drops across the line - its about 5 to 8% on the ipod range - a 5% drop on laptops and desktops would be pretty good to see (although 8% would be better :) )
In the interests of starting a completely unfounded rumour, I say its more about clearing out stocks before a complete product refresh across the entire line at WWDC ...
