I just bought an iMac off eBay. It works fine, but the guy who sold it to me was wrong, or lied, about the hardware specs... I think. What I do know is:
OS: 9.2.2
Color: indigo
Slot-loading cd-rom (burner?)
1 stick of RAM (?mb)
10gb HD
What I want to know is:
Where do I find out what the actual specs are? This is my first Mac, and the docs on Apple.com are next to useless to me.

It looks like one of the 400 Mhz models.

Do you know what the processor speed is?
I'm going to guess it's a 400MHz one, as it has a 10GB HD.
Standard RAM was 64MB
The CD drive was a x24 CD-ROM (not a burner)

Eidorian: I've already seen that on Apple.com. It doesn't help me find the specs on the one I own.

Can you give us more information.
What did the ebay advert say the iMac was.
What is the information in the System Profiler (Under the Apple Menu)

It said it was 500mhz, but I can't be sure. The guy I bought it from won't reply to my emails.
I don't know where to find the System Profiler.

If you find a barcode on the exterior, the specifications should be listed under it. I forget where the System Profiler is in 9.2.2 but I know it's off the Apple menu in the upper left.

Edit: Seriously look a little harder...it's there.

THAT'S a start. I had no idea that symbol was another menu. I'll let you know what I find out ASAP.
Thanks for now!

The 500Mhz were either Graphite, Snow, Flower Power or Blue Dalmation.
In Finder hit Apple+F and type System Profiler.
This should find it for you.
EDIT:
I've just found there was an Indigo 500MHz model, They came with a 20GB HD and either 64 or 128MB RAM and the CD drive was a x 24 CD ROM / x 4 CD-RW

FYI/future reference, you should download Mactracker....a database of specs & info for virtually every mac made in the past 15 yrs or so :D

There's a label on the bottom of the iMac that has the specs printed on it. Look closely because it's very fine print.

Yeah the indigo 500 is what I'm using.
If the HD was 10 GB it's either an earlier indigo model at 500 or 400.
