Hi there!
I no longer need my Nikon D2x, so I'm seriously thinking about selling it. Before putting it on ebay, I prefer to ask here.

Nikon D2x
12,4 Megapixels
5fps (8fps in high speed 7Mp mode)

It comes with everything that came standard in the box.
- Camera body (duh!)
- LCD Cover (it has some scratches)
- User manual
- Picture project CD
- Cables
- Battery: EN-EL4. The camera says it's used up to level 1 (from 0=new to - 5=replace battery). That's "almost new" , or "teenager", in human terms. :D
- Battery Charger
- Original box

Bought in October 2005. The camera has, according to Opanda, a little over 10000 pictures. It's seen very light use, I only took it for work and when it was necessary in order to keep it pristine. Besides, when I got it, I also changed of job so I've not used as much as I'd liked to.

Included with the camera comes the DK-17M necessary eyepiece. It magnifies the image in the viewfinder to give a result close to the size of a 35mm viewfinder. I'd also include the original non-magnifying eyepiece.
It also comes with the DK2 rubber eyecup on the DK-17M. The eyecup kept falling, so I glued it to the DK-17M. One of the best decisions I've ever made! :o
The result looks like this (not my camera, I'll post actual pictures later)

Keep in mind that I'm in Europe, so with the actual dollar exchange rate, if you're in the US you're probably not interested.

I'm also thinking about selling my Nikkor 18-200 VR bought about 2 months ago. If you're interested in any of the two items you can contact me by PM or sending me an email from the profile.

Thanks for reading!
Juan

To anyone considering this, the glue he speaks of WAS a great idea and shouldn't sway anyone.
That said, glad you're in Spain or I'd be on this (and no I cannot afford it this month, which is why it's great you're in spain!!)

I'm going to Africa this summer and I'm very interested in this. How much are you asking? Will its performance be comparable to a D200 with the price difference invested in lenses?

Thanks for your input. ;) Actually, I hesitated before doing it, but the damn eyecup kept falling, and at $8 a piece, it's the best thing to do. The DK-17M is very unconfortable without it anyway. It's very worth the price, but only with the eyecup.
To whom it may concern: If you buy a D2x and don't wear glasses for only a small % more, buy the DK-17M too. If you wear glasses, consider it. If you don't like it, you can always sell it later.

Hi! There are various reasons to buy this body that you should consider. I'm going to send you a PM with more personal advice :) but as this can interest other people, there it goes:

The real advantages of this body compared to the D200 are:
- Speed. Not only the frames per second, but, overall, speed.
- Battery life. With the D200, a battery lasts for 500 shots, and this one lasts for 1200, both with moderate use of the LCD. There is also the newer EN-EL4a, with an advertised capacity of up to 2500 shots.
- Durability, weatherproofing... If you're going to Africa, yes, I'd think seriously about it. In high humidity climate, the best solution would be to have a Pelican case (they are waterproof) with silica gel and, for the lenses, camera bodies or flashes, buying a hundred or so of plastic zip bags and lots silica gel to put inside.
- The ability to use the DK-17M

These are the four real reasons to get this camera. Forget about resolution, they are almost the same. Yes, given the ideal situation, the D2x is better than the D200 (I have both) but speed, battery life, the DK-17M, durability and weather proofing are the things to consider.

Tell me about your trip, and I'll give you more advice! :)

Oh, by the way, how can I post my own pictures?
