My wife constantly complains that DVDs shown on a Mac look "too clear" or "too real", compared to viewing them on a DVD player. Is there a setting to make digital look more like analog?

DVDs are all digital anyway (except the connection from your DVD player to the TV may not be, especially if it's a SDTV). There shouldn't really be a reason why they'd look different on a computer, other than the computer screen being higher resolution and not interlaced. Maybe that's it?

Now that's an odd question.

Do you play the DVDs back full screen? That could help to stretch/blur the image. Or turn deinterlacing off?

Or buy VHS? 😉
