Wii Disks in the MBP.

I really really like Trauma Center: Second Opinions soundtrack.

So much, that I was going to see that, by an off chance, Atlus didn't encrypt their music.

My Macbook Pro won't spin the disk up. I try regular CDs and DVDs and theyre fine, but the Wii disks cause wierd clicking noises to come out of the computer, and can't spin up past half way.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Normal disks write from the inside -> out. Nintendo, instead of putting DRM on their disks, just made them read from the outside -> in, so nothing except the Wii can read the disks. Ingenious, isn't it?

No, can't say I've ever put a gaming console disk in my Mac.

I believe CD's spin clockwise. If you have a microwave with one of those turntables inside it, you can but your MacBook Pro inside the microwave while it's reading the disc. The turntable will spin counter-clockwise which will offset the rotation of the internal drive. Make sure you use a low power setting. Also note that unless you have an industrial microwave this will not work with 17" MacBook Pro's.

Please don't microwave a computer.

Another option might be to just use the line out from the Wii and record it onto your MacBook Pro.

But there was a story about someone putting their PowerBook in the oven once (wanted to hide it from someone they were going to give it as a present).

But the person they were going to give it to accidentally ended up cooking it (when they went to preheat the oven). :D

Are you serious? So they just reversed the engine and had it record in another direction? ..Ugh!
