I believe this is the first time they've publicly shared a conversation on the same stage in front of an audience. They've shared time together in the recent past, but not in a public venue.

gotcha. makes sense.

should be an interesting discussion at least. hopefully it'll focus more on their respective philosophies rather than their products.

Wow it'd freaky on that page with the live stock prices.

this should be very cool though. :D

I remember the other "D Conferences". Steve actually unveiled the Airport Express at the "D Conference". Basically its a time for all the execs to get together to talk, see new products, and play games.

The downside is that historically the WSJ has only allowed members who attended see the video of the conference. hopefully we'll be able to see a copy of the conversation.

i'd settle for a transcript of the chat between the two. :p

Distracting, isn't it?

The writer of this story is kind of clueless. His assertion that Jobs' insistence that hardware and software be integrated "led to his ouster" from Apple is incorrect. If it was true, then his successor John Scully would have changed that, wouldn't he? Funny how such obvious stuff eludes the media sometimes.

I'd sure like to see the interview. Even if they don't reveal much by what they say, the body language between the two could be very interesting.

Apple arrange to have a call put through to Steve's iPhone while he is onstage during the interview

>iPhone rings

>Steve answers

>turns to Bill G

>"Bill-its for you"
>Hands the iPhone to a flabbergasted Bill G

Mastercard moment!:apple:

Only hope Steve holds back on any more Presidential recommendations...

and AAPL stockholders wonder why AAPL tanked in the past few days?

Please Steve, just stick to making the most elegant machines in the history of the world.

No political hubris please, even if Al Gore is a fanboi. Rush Liimbaugh is a fanboi too, and no one wants to see him President.

I love how people say things like "the vertically integrated model doesn't work for computers." I think it quite clearly does given plenty of examples of how windows is wallowing in a squalor of viruses and malware and ease of use of most software is nothing short of abominable. Vertical integration is a great way to make good money on a small scale. It just doesn't work selling commodities.

They had dinner together a few years ago. Steve even mentioned it at some event. He wasn't kidding. Wish I could have been there to see it.

Bill Gates doesn't tip BTW.
