Hello,

I have found an old game for Mac OS 8.6. I tried getting it to run but it had a no entry sign over it and I just got an error message. Is there anyway of getting it to work?

I have a feeling the answers no because the intel macs don't have classic.

Thanks.

I've written a tutorial on getting Classic Mac Emulators working. PM me if you want the link (I don't distribute it openly).

Nah, sorry. I don't mean the tutorial, I mean the whole cost of getting an Intel Mac set up to run the emulators, and how fast it will actually run classic apps.

What about using a mac.rom file if you don't have an original mac which has the file, is that legal?

It's probably easier just to buy an old Mac though. 🙂

Seconded. It's also more fun.

Otherwise old Macs are dirt cheap (and not worth the trouble IMO).

Fussing with emulators is ten times more tedious than just picking up an old Mac.

No.

What game are we talking about anyway?

Don't get an old Mac. It is a waste of space.

Use the emulators, get your nostalgia Mac gaming fix and move on. What game is it BTW?

Well of course you move on. Playing a classic Mac game in an emulator isn't nearly as much fun as playing it on an old Mac.

Not only that, the emulator solutions available today are really pathetic, and actually quite difficult to use.

Betcha $20 I could take you at Maelstrom.
