Windows won't switch off.

I have been running Win XP Home under bootcamp on my Macbook Pro for the last 8 months with no problems whatsoever.
About a month ago I noticed the shutdown sequence requires two attempts to shutdown...I have automatically downloaded and installed the XP Updates so I'm not sure if it is one of these which is causing it...I click "Start", "Turn of Computer" then "Turnoff" but nothing happens and I then have to do it a second time which then works.
Anybody else having this problem?

Check if it's a Windows problem? Could be that there's something running that's killed when you shut down the first time, but since it's running, your computer doesn't shut down.
