Hello, it seems like I have defective logic board on my PM G5 Dual 1.8. It wont boot, the fans just run super high so I reset the PRAM, SMU, changed the hard drive, changed the RAM and it's still the same. Can someone tell me which logic board model I need? The computer has 4 DIMM slots. Inside the case it reads "Apple Certified Recondition 5/12/2005". Not sure if that's the manufacture date or the recondition date. Thanks in advance...

This site has specific apple part numbers for components:

Edit: Logic boards can be as expensive as getting an entire new G5 machine. The OS X disc contains a utility which will tell you what part is bad. Boot the machine with the disc in, and hold down 'Alt' to get to the Apple Repair/service utility and check it out, before setting down cash on a new board.

...find a Mac Genius to look at it. Get their ideas first - it costs nothing apart from time. Perpahs the CPU or some RAM has somehow dislodged itself from where it needs to be.

Does the power LED flash at all on the startup?

When did this happen - and what were you doing?
