I copy several folders, each containing several files, across the network to my MacBook.
I look in the folders, on my local hard drive. They are empty. I change views, restart the finder, and curse loudly. The files are still gone.
I reboot and the files are all present.

At least you're files magically appear.

I lost a file a little over a year ago and have no idea where it went. It was called "Quotes", it was a collection of quotes that I come accross from MR, e-mails, etc. I had compiled it over the course of a few years and one day it simply vanished. 😡
