iPod Line out

is it possible to take a standard iPod cable and extract the line out from it, or are the wires not all there?

Audio pins look to be 2, 3, and 4. A USB iPod cable has four wires connecting to pins 16, 23, 25, and 27. No, they're not in a standard cable.
