Whats the highest resolution I can output to my 42" LCD HDTV. Im going to connect it via DVI with a HDMI/DVI Converter on my LCD HDTV.

Depends on what your TV will take. The MBP can output much higher than any TV will do. If you use HDMI, then 1080p is the maximum.

Are you sure it can output 1980X1200 to an LCD HDTV?

It can output whatever you want, the question is what will the TV do with it. Look at the specs for the TV and see what signals it takes as input to the HDMI. Probably say 480p, 720p and 1080p.

the highest in 1080p but your tv may only take 720p or 1080i so find some specs on your tv

The MBP doesn't have an HDMI port though or does it?

Yeah HDMI -> DVI is easy. Monoprice has ultra-cheap, great-quality cables (No shill)
