How do I go about receiving my student discount for a mac? I would like to get a g5 later this year. And how much of a discount will I receive?

you must be either a k-12 teacher or a registered student or faculty at a college or university. always check with the school first to see if they have their own store with discounts, then check here (http://www.apple.com/education/)

If you're a university student you can get great discounts (20% sometimes) by signing up for the ADC Student Membership. The only problem is that you can only get one per lifetime.

just go onto the online apple store and click on education and find your college (i'm presuming your a college student) and after that you'll be directed to the edu apple store.
