Weird problem when adding songs to iTunes library

If I add a new album of songs to itunes, for some reason iTunes decides to make duplicates of some of the songs in the album when copying them over to the itunes folder.

It's not all the songs though. It doesnt usually duplicate tracks 1-6 or 7, but everything after is duplicated. It's weird. Does anyone know what possibly could be the issue?
 
Check your import preferences. look for anything out of the ordinary. If not,
un-check the boxes.
