Dell LCDs are *not* top of the line--Dell has one of the worst quality/return/support records for monitors. Their LCDs are Hitachi rebrands--and Dell buys the second-tier quality product.
There's a reason this monitor is going for over $100 cheaper than anything comparable.

Bullsh*t. I just purchased a Dell 1900FP. This is the exact same LCD used by Samsung in their 19" LCD monitors, which are considered some of the best in the business.
My LCD has 450:1 contrast, 250 nits brightness, and a response time of 25 ms. Those stats are awesome. Not only that, it arrived in 2 days with free shipping and no tax, and after running a pixel test on it, I have zero dead pixels.
Just because you hate Dell doesn't mean you need to lie about their products.
One other thing: I purchased this LCD from Dell because it was one of the only LCDs that doesn't have speakers built in (who uses built in speakers anyway) and the bezel is very thin, which makes a multi-monitor setup very easy. I plan on buying a second 1900FP to place next to it as soon as possible.

Don't hate Dell. Own a Dell PC, use one at work.
As for your monitor stats--what does that have to do with Dell's service record? Getting a working monitor shipped to you doesn't mean Dell makes good monitors, *******. You can troll the web for analysis of their service and reliability record for LCDs.
Oh and the Samsung thing: WRONG. Samsung buys first-line parts froom Hitachi, Dell buys second-line. If you doubt me, goofball, do the research yourself.

Ok, I tried to look this up online, but I couldn't find anything linking Samsung LCDs to Hitachi LCDs. Could you send me a link please?
FYI, the Dell 1900FP in question is the exact same LCD that is used in the Samsung 191T. If you want to read a review of it I would recommend this one (http://www.maximumoc.com/reviews/dell1900fp_multi-monitor.html) or [this one (http://www.pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,108480,00.asp).
I've provided you with two links proving the Dell 1900FP uses the same tube that's in the Samsung Syncmaster 191T, would you care to provide me with just one link proving they are made by Hitachi, or that they have an inordinate number of problems?
Didn't think so... you are just a troll.

Ooh, I'm a "troll" who writes "bullsh*t". What was I thinking?
Oh by the way--LCDs don't use tubes. And you're probably one of those guys who doesn't realize all TV parts are made by three companies in the world.
But anyway...on to more important things, like lint.
