Looking to get a bigger display for my G5/Mac Pro and was wondering if anyone was going to get rid of theirs.

If I can't find anything here I'll just go to Newegg.

Good place to shop I've bought from there before.

I might consider one of their displays.

It is very painful to use a 15 inch lcd display.

I second tiger, Though not always the best quality they do offer pretty good prices. Im not sure what quality display you need though Im quite satisfied with my 20.1" widescreen LCD (Sceptre) I got here for 179.99, Though it is now $159.99.

If you just sign up for there email abnd check the specials there youll peridiically come across some nice ones. I saw a 24" viewsonic a while ago for a decent price (Cant remember what it was.)

Yuck @ tigerdirect. If you've ever dealt with a TD rebate, you'd steer clear. Newegg.com is a better bet and honestly, pricing is probably better. :)

I usually steer clear of most rebates, they are kinda deceiving and can take like 6-8 weeks to actually get the rebate.

My 2 options are Newegg and Tiger Direct.

I'm looking for a nice big display so I can edit in Final Cut Pro. I need more screen real estate.

If it is under 200 dollars, that would be great.

I havnt found much a problem with rebates (Though I stear clear) they seem to offer alot of "instant rebates" so I avoid the hassel. Though I agree when there are rebates they are a pain...

how about THIS (http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=HYD-N220W). good company i use all the time, great service, and sale/free shipping never hurts!

good luck with the replacement.

edit: just found a sale page in my email from buy.com, monitor deals are HERE (http://www.buy.com/cat/lcd_displays/215.html) and looks like good prices.

almost everything i buy through tiger direct has a rebate, and i never have any problems whatsoever. plus i love the fact that in a few weeks, i get a nice check, usually to blow at tigerdirect again. :D

also, they just implemented a new system where people are able to rate and review products [in a similar fashion to musiciansfriend.com], i find it very helpful when buying the lower end products.

also, while i use newegg too, i find they just can't compare to the prices of tigerdirect's rebates. but that's my #2 site for comp parts.

also, take a look over at pricewatch.com.

What is your price range? I have a 2005FPW that was just sent to me from Dell. My old one was a rev a02 and this is a05. It actually appears a bit clearer than my other but anyway...I have the original box from the 1st monitor and I sent them back their cruddy packaging with my old monitor.

Sorry for the delayed response, I didn't think there was interest in my thread.

My budget for a display is 150-250.

I don't know much about displays so you guys need to help me out.

Newegg also has a 20" viewsonic for $179 after $20 rebate and a Samsung 20" widescreen monitor here:

This one has some good ratings and I've yet to here anything bad about Samsung monitors.
